With this whole aussie sterotype thing....it worries me greatly to think that the rest of the world sees us as being being exactly like the crocodile hunter.....CRIKEY! Where in reality, 50% or more of aussies thing he is a complete tool, albeit funny!

Amen to that! Just look at the pisswater that passes for the most popular "beer" here in the states, whichever brand that may be. I'm kind of partial to Guiness m'self. Oh yeah, there's one brewed here in Texas that is pretty good too. It's Shiner Bock. There's my $.02 worth.

There is one good thing I'll say about Forsters, it sponsors the Formula 1....but thats about it.
Oh by the way we dont have crocs in our water system but we have eels....just ask the lads who went skinny dipping in the Parra River!!
The eel took the bait!!

just because fosters and vb are the most popular beers in OZ, doesnt necessarily mean that they are the best. my favourite aussie beer is Toohey's Old , a great dark ale. It is the the beer I will recommend to my kids when the time comes , good thing too it is the price of standard beers.

I'll have to take you up the offer sometime.

I plan to buy a Datto in California, so I can do a Death Valley run, up to Colorado and do Pikes Peak and drive down through Texas and then make a left turn to "Bourbon Country"!! Yeah!

Fosters is a nice beer to drink in the US. I'm a bit tired of all of the California/Nevada Pale Ale's...maybe I drink too many of them..too often

Yumm... Tex-Mex. I'll second that. I've only been to Texas once, but I can still remember the food.

I'd like to go to Australia and find out what the genuine article is like, sounds like a great country. Here in Seattle I'm getting tired of Starbucks and salmon

If you ever make it Texas, I'll take you out for the best Mexican food outside Mexico.

Oh, and next time your in the US kicking back a Foster's, read the label. It say "Brewed and bottled in Canada".

You got it. I remember Bob saying Fosters wasn't very popular... I thought maybe (small chance) that "Beers" was a brand.

Anyways, aside from the cheesey menu and the advertisements, the Outback Steakhouse is good. The servers are ordinary and don't try to talk in phony accents -- only the patrons do . There are Oz things hanging on the wall (boomerangs, etc). I hear the one in Spokane, Washington has a genuine stuffed croc hanging on the wall ... of course that leads to stories about alligators living in the city water system and so forth. Not that I've ever seen an american alligator, let alone a croc. Australia is a big country ... I wouldn't expect all parts to be like in the movies, except the cars.
