I don't mean to be critical, but that's not a particularly meaningful measurement. Installed height will vary depending on the seat pressure of the spring installed in each strut.
better measurements would be the length of the strut tube, and height to spring perch. That allows you to see the relative travel available and the effect on ride height using your current springs. obviously there are also the different sized spring bases to take into consideration.

Hi,
the measurement is from the strut top - where the shock is screwed in - to the bolt holes at the bottom where the steering linkage bolts up. j

Hi
I've just been down the wreckers to measure struts on different datsuns, since there was some uncertainty. 120Y - 44.5cm 180B - 44.5cm 200B - 44.5cm Nissan Bluebird - 46cm Stanza - 47.5cm Datsun C210 - 44.5cm R31 Skyline - 40.5cm (different hub set up, disc is further away from strut, but same bolt spacing on the bottom - 9cm) Hope this helps, justin.
