cool.

On second thought, bag the convertible and make it a removable hardtop. Then you don't need to fit a top mechanism. A few mini-trucks are converted this way. Dodge even had a factory Dakota like this.

Any convert frame out there come to your mind for approx fit? I'll just travel the wreckers and maybe try to get orig manufacturer specs.(How to do THAT is unknown) PS If you're up in WA, maybe next time I visit my bro, we can meet.(Seattle)

Go for the convertible -- it will be a world first!

What do I do for a living? I live here, at datsun1200.com, reading about 1200s. If you read all 19,000 posts you'll have no life either. In my spare time I'm a Support Eng. I try to read the new posts every night, sometimes I check before I go to work.

Yeah, what can I say.....when you have an itch.....I needed a sedan right NOW! Most would melt her down, but I'm thinking RHD convertable. Or removable hardtop. Whatever the case, it will be on the pavement. And I refer to ground clearance as well as movement. By the way David G...........What do you do for a living that allows you so much time to keep us all informed? You're amazing. Thank you.

You bought the Castro Valley sedan?

Sorry for the delay. I forgot to update my profile, thanks. The Castro Valley sedan needs a new rear end, as in posts back! Some body shops won't take it on. Others say time/material, approx 2-5K USD. Might just buy my own welding equip and give it a go. Idaho Dan has not returned my inquire. Too busy right now to go to LA. I'll keep it & keep looking for another. I want a RHD sedan.

No, what are your plans? Are you going to fix up the eBay-Mobile, or buy that nice one out in San Bernardino?

Hey No, your e-mail came back. If you have a new address, you could update your club profile.

I sent you a PM (see the Message menu on the left side here).

Hmmm ... that might work. In Washington, you have to write to the documented address for the titled owner. If the letter comes back, they'll issue a conditional. If no claims are made in two years, they issue a new title.

The car is at Dan's Auto Farm, west of Boise, ID, near the Oregon border. He also has a coupe.

Here in CA, if a car is not registered for 7-8 years, it drops off of the DMV computer. If it's stolen, I think it stays on record permanently.
You would have to fill out some extra forms stating where the car has been, take the car to DMV for a VIN verification, and away you go. I did all of this last year. My current 1200 "was an old parts car, sitting in my parents back yard"
