GT5 is the smallest bore class of the SCCA GT cars. Generally you can change almost everything on the car (including building a complete tube chassis) except for engine type/size (1300cc max) and wheel/tire size. GT5 cars are restricted to 13x 6 wheels and an 8x20 inch tire (slicks are of course permitted). The skys the limit on engine modification (some restrictions are spelled on on the GCR spec line for each car model) with individual port fuel injection and one carb throat per cylinder permitted. Bodies can be mostly fiberglass and sometines can be upgraded to newer models (a datsun 1200 can be upgraded to a Datsun 350Z body) but the mechanicals stay the same. This is driven mostly by manufacturer contingency support for the marque. This call appeals to me as I like to build and try out home brew solutions to expensive race only parts. These cars are very fast and handle very well when properly set up. Rear wheel drive Minis are the current cars to beat in National class racing. Thanks for the input on what cars used the aluminun housing. Jeff I will contact you promptly about the diffs.

Alloy carrier H190's were used in roadsters, J1500's, 520's, 620's, 411 bluebird SSS's, works rally car PA10's and the mighty FJ24 240 RS. I have probably missed a few as well.

you need to find a dealer who has some oldtimers
IF I remember correctly, the aluminum housings were used in the roadsters (SPL/SRL311), and yes they are different than the later ones. the best that I can offer right now is this, after the weekend I'll go visit the dealer I used to work at and get you more info, but it's going to take a few days

I posted this to the News section (sorry) I think this is a better place for it.
I am desparately seeking parts to complete the setup of two H190 differentials for my 1200 GT5 race project. I need new pinion pre-load spacers (either the crushable ones or the solid spacers with shims) and pinion oil seals to fit the aluminum housing (slightly smaller that the seal for the steel housing). Does anyone know of a source in the US to purchase these from or does someone here happen to have a few new sets gathering dust they might be willing to sell? My local Nissan dealer parts guy just gives me a blank stare when I ask for them I'm also looking for spare 4.8:1 ring and pinion sets or complete rearends (pumpkin) for the H190. Classicdatsun.com is willing to take my diffs and have them setup for me for a price but all I really need are the parts to do it myself. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
