Sorry about the earlier post, I went to lunch without logging out and one of the brain dead guys I work with had to have his say....
I have also drained the fuel tank, replaced all of the rubber fuel line and used 'fuel set' which is supposed to remove any traces of water and contaminents. Kev.

Why is Kev insulting himself?
And why does the C word get past the auto censors?

I'll try to make a more thoughtful addition than that already posted. Kev can probably use something more useful than a Brain Dead comment like that.
Have a look at the fuel filter and if there is any crud in it drain the fuel tank and clean it. Also, the carb might need a clean again as well. Best of luck!

Hey all,
I have recently bought a 1200 as a project. My first concern is getting it reliable. It runs great, then terrible, then great, then terrible. It splutters and dies and doesn't want to accelerate when it is having an off day. I have replaced the plugs, points, leads, condensor, coil, most of the wiring, fuel filter, fuel pump; done the timing and set the point dwell etc.... The carby and head are reconditioned. Anyone else had this problem. Any suggestions as I am running out of things to waste money on!!!!! HELP! Cheers, Kev. You can view topic.
