i bought the webers for $650 in pretty good condition
with Gx manifold, braided lines and filters . The engine has had work yep, got a street cam, its a14 rebuilt, bored out, the head is a12GX (recoed) ported and flowed and a few extra goodies in there too

awesome... so how much does it cost to get the cam installed not including head work and not including the cost of the cam??
great b120, it will be interesting to see how much power u make out of ur webers. by the way, have you done any other work to it? how much did the webers cost you?? new?? thanks mik.

mikila i am not sure on the power output i am gettting but it is pretty good
, it is going on a dyno soon and will post results speaking of Aseries reving Feral errol has a A13 that revs to 10200rpm , it has had serious work done to it, i think he has taken it apart and using the head on a A15 i think check it out on www.datrats.com.au link A13 i have heard of Aseries reving to 11000rpm and over but i have never seen reving that hard!!

I've got a mild cam in my A15, but it sounds good with head work, Dellorto's, headers, and 2 1/4" exhaust with turbo muffler. I used to have a straight through "glasspack" muffler and it definitely sounded nice and throaty, but I got pulled over a lot and my ears rang after long drives. To get the best of both worlds, I put a Flowtech Race Ready exhaust cutout before the muffler so whenever I want that loud obnoxious race car sound, I just uncap the cutout. Mine only revs to 7200 rpm though, but pulls hard from 3000. I'm still trying to figure out "metric" cams, I'm used to lift and duration in inches. I was thinking of a heftier cam from Matsuoka, but I like mine.

yeh im guna stick with an a15, ive already sourced a cheap one off this dude i know:D.
ddgonzal u say that it howls at 7 - 8000 rpm? i didnt think those motors could rev that high. does the lumpy cam change the characteristics of the motor so much that u can rev them higher than normal? that makes my idea even better! i love cars that can rev, being an ex corolla 4age master lol:P.

Lumpy cams have "less driveability" because they make less HP than the stock cam at low rpms ... and with the corresponding big valves, intake and exhaust, you lose power at low rpms. Tall tires on the back make this even worse. However if done right, it's all outweighed by more HP at high rpms.
One thing to do is get a bigger engine (A14/A15) with a lumpy cam, so you still have as much HP as the A12 even at low rpms. Datsa73's engine sounded real good (in the photo album). It is A15 with lumpy cam, dual downdraft webers and maybe 2" exhaust with a "glass pack" (straight through) muffler. A little loud, but sounded good at all rpms. It "howls" at 7-8000 rpm. At idle it sounds a little like the choke is stuck on, but muscular sounding.

im thinkin im guna stay old skool, definately an a-series motor first with webers and different cam. should sound reeeeeel nice cant wait
