You won't need to weld the crossmember. See this discussion: ute crossmember

Yeah what a bummer. I have a 1971 B120 Ute and am looking at upgrading to a A15 with a super charger in 2004. Only problem is is that I need the cross member from a later model to fit the A15 on. Where the hell am I going to find this??? Might be easier to weld up some mounting brakets onto the orginal crossmember?? While I am at it has anybody else out there successfully super charged an A15. How easy is this and what are the results like???
cheers, daz

The ute crossmember info is not quite 100% correct.
The GENUINE 1200 ute, from '71 to '73 uses the same crosmember as all other 1200's. To get it right, you need the crossmember from the "new improved" 1200 ute. These later ones were 120Y's in B120 disguise. Any 1200 ute that had it's original engine mounting the altenator on the right [drivers] side should do the trick. Chris You can view topic.
