the entries go off tomorrow,so i'm in.harry,i'm not sure of the best way to go from brisbane to bathurst, but it aint down to sydney & go right.lots of bathurst people go north regularly,to grafton & brisbane,so the best thing might be to call the event secretary & get the best way.people like martin mcloughlin, wayne burden & the tuttons are the people to have a chat to,cause they all do the queensland championships.as for spectating,it's basically a club event,so smallish crowds, but easier access to be pits, where the cars will be parked on saturday,& the rest of the circuit is open,so you can pop around to the top easily.on sunday the hillclimb pits is macphillamy park,& you can pretty much walk the length of the track, but it's a real bitch of a climb back up.so come up for the day,the weekend,or so,cause it's a good run,& the bathurst museum is there if you get bored.

With 2 drivers and 4 x 15 minute breaks, you should do it in a day. But in the heat of December, it will be difficult. To be safe and relaxed, I recommend that you stop off on the way for the night. I was buggered after driving up to Brisbane and back in 2 days. The $50-80 for a hotel room will pay off as cheap insurance.

I've been on the Bathurst track, it's bloody fantastic. It brings back the days of watching the race on the TV when I was a kid. Back when Brocky was the king of the mountain. The Caltex Chase doesn't slow you down that much.

You'll love it. And if you are racing on it, you'll love it even more.

Chris.

well, I just sent my entry form away And the time off work is approved So are you guys still going to be there?

I just hope the Patrol doesn't play up like it did towing my mates 240Z out to Warwick a couple of weeks ago. It's running fine again now - without a load behind it anyway. But it will get a bit of a test run this Saturday back out to Warwick for another event with the 1200.

I've started planning the trip - man it's a long way to Bathurst! Just under 1100km from the northside of Brissy. Sometimes I think this is all a bit much just for a sprint and a hillclimb, but it's a special place and I've never even been there - so the chance to compete on sections of the track is just too much to resist! Besides, it will be interesting to go up against a completely different group of cars.

Good to hear you get a chance to build up some speed before the Chase

I can download an entry form, but not familiar with NSW classes for Speed Events - Type 1 - Type 5? Which 'Type' would an Improved Production car fit into?

Hi guys I didnt get to Bathurst today after the misses had one of them hissy fits she is due any day now. so Im not stretching the freindship.
I have downloaded the entry forms and printed some copies out I dont think the supregs are back from cams as yet
The club is pretty casual so Im sure if you where send the entry form with all the details in with a cheque you should be right. Its best to get in early as its a very popuar event. The entry form is in PDF format so you will need adobe to read and print it out. I can email the file if your still having problems downloading.
Cheers Andrew

andrew,i'd love 2 sets of regs, cause it's a double entered, maybe harry'd let you share a seat.maybe you could just mention to the event secretary that we haven't been able to download them off the club site.saves some postage if i can just print them off myself.

They start in the dip. Speed is still pretty quick with My A14 I was hiting the kink at 160-170 flat .With the ca18 I was backing off before the kink as you start to get wide. I dont know exactly how fast but it was pretty bloody quick.
I was following a 550hp R32 GTR through there when I first put the CA18 in he said he was clocking just over 200kmh just before the chase. I was about half a car length behind him.
Mad Timo I doubt its the same torana as he has only just finished building it its a SLR5000 style should be pretty quick has some good gear behind it and a good driver too.
cheers Andrew

PS: Ill be over at bathurst this weekend for the 50th aniversary bathurst light car club do. If you like I can grab some sup regs and post them out.
