There is a step inbetween your stock T25 and the T28. It is the T25 on the grey and red top SR20's. It has a higher AR than the stock T25 but lower than the T28. It depends on how far you want to push your engine. It seems subjective and is different to whoever you talk to but 130-150kW is as far as you would want to push the stock comuter, injectors and internals. If you want more than that, you best get better management, injectors and some bigger legs. But tuning is more important on these little engines than most else. But you do hear of blokes getting around the 220kW mark with just some lower compression slugs, computer and the T25 off the SR with stock rods so it depends on who your tuner is.

hope this helps

another important difference between the two is around $750. t28s are generally more expensive fluctuating around the $1000 mark, t25s can get as cheap as $250 for a decent one.

the t25 is the standard turbo on your ca18det.
T25 is pritty punchy, comes on boost about 2,200rpm... can run a max of 14psi as adaily driven turbo but as they are a ceramic compressor wheel they dont like 2 be boosted up more than that as they wear real quick.
T28 much better turbo a good upgrade from t25 can source one of these of s15 200sx
these turbo's when got about 15psi run through them come on boost alittle latter on rev range but really pull alot harder than t25
t28 can be boosted up about 20psi mark..
both these turbo's can be high flowed but u better of saving your money and buying a GT series turbo as ther are rollerbearing much better quality.. hope thats helped u alittle more!
