I was refering to what ddgonz wrote:
Quote: - The automatic crossmember (reversed) may work with some 5-speeds. In automatic 1200's, a 5-speed reportedly bolts up with the crossmember.

if you are going by what i said you have misunderstood,
my car was an auto SHELL, and these have mounts in diffrent positions on the car, so all that is required is a reversed manual crossmember to fit a 5-speed, this will not work in a manual shell

Hi Guys...
I'm about to install a 5 speed into my '78 120Y (there is currently an auto in it). I know that the rear cross member MAY have to be replaced, although there is some evidence to suggest an auto x-member reversed will work. Does someone have a plan (complete with measurements) of the crossmember I may need to fabricate ? Many Thanks in advance ! You can view topic.
