does any1 know of the place that rebuilds a12's and can like get 250hp out of them in sydney????

I read a magazine a while back and it had an avertisment about a workshop in Sydney that speclized in the A12 and a14 etc it said that they could get 250 hp out of an a12 does anyone know of that place????

nissan A-series 250hp = engine life expectancy of less than 1 minute. I dont think you could get this sort of power reliably.

there used to be a place out penrith way, Datspeed i think it was called. They had a wealth of knowledge, but i don't think they're open any more, i don't think they are. Can any of the sydney boys clarify that? i distinctly remeber their ad saying somthing about a standard 1200 went into their workshop with 68Hp and left with 250Hp, personally, i think they were implying somthing like an imported CA18 or somthing similar but i can't be 100% sure.

yeah steveo datspeed has been gone for about 4 years or more now.

Yep, Steveo is dead right. I remember the advertisement they were talking about an engine conversion - it definately wasn't an A12

Datspeed went broke & closed shop a few years ago. I have heard quite a few horror stories. Lots of over the top claims made and heaps of money spent with not very good results :(
If you want a tough A series built I can recomend Jeff Taylor (JTS Perormance) PH:0296238826 In Stmary's. He built My old A14 race engine 150+hp. And ported mY Ca18 head 400+hp.A top bloke and reasonably priced. I know he builds a few a12 blocked engines for the rally guys with over 1400CC capacity getting around the 150-160hp mark dont expect to get much change out of $6-8k though. Cheers Andrew
