the rod broke?
I've heard of the bracket that holds it to the frame up front breaking, but not the rod.

I've got a pair of '82 stanza Castor Rods you can have, I'm in Cronulla Sydney. I've got a pair of standard 1200 ones too if they are any use.
Let me know if you want them. James

I snapped it clean off possibly a fault when the the thred was tapped 30 years ago or so. Or maybe sydneys shocking pot hole filled roads are to blame.
Was just about to pull in the driveway and I heard this bang kind a noise and then shrapnel hittin the road, the left side dropped down bout an inch and a half. Lucky it was just as i was gettin home!!!

i have always thought of taping a thread on the rod just after the control arm on the thickest part , and then finding a rod size to go over it with bushes that suit !!!
or just use LC/LJ torana radius rods!!!!

The Dato is back in action
Cheers Jempson for the rods, they didnt fit found out the rods on there were modified, more than 12cm of extra thred! I just got the rod machined and tapped for very cheep at the gear makers at Kirrawee except the cost of the die nut I had to get cause the gear makers didnt have one the right size but I got it now for next time it happens! Is there any way to measure the caster at home or should i just get it adjusted by a wheel alignment place? I put the ajusting nuts approxamitly where they were on the old rod by measuring the distance between the seccond hole and the nut on each rod, I will test drive it soon should be pretty close.

Get someone to set it correctly, You maybe able to get it close but even a couple of mm out will make a big difference.
