what gearbox should i use if i were to give myself 5 gears? i was thinking a k-50 or somthing because its cable clutch (i think the t-50 is hydraulic) if i were to do this whats involved. i know someone on this site has done it in their ute. oh and i could find a sunny one but i cant find one in a wrecking yard anywhere.

There's some pretty good info on Martin Pots site in the links on this conversion. I think sunny boxes are pretty rare these days so most people go for a toyota celica five speed with a dellow bellhousing, worked great with my a15, in an a12 would get great fuel efficientcy. justin
