a12 is 1200 cc a14 is 1400 cc
the a14 has a bigger bore and stroke giving it larger displacmen ( cubic capasity)

The A14 differs in the following major areas..
It has a 3mm larger bore [76mm] It has a 7mm longer stroke [77mm] It has a taller block It is physicly interchangeable into cars built from '74 that used an A series engine There are a number of diferences from A series engines up to '73
