#1 Need a helpful hand in the right direction (b210 swap question)...
LordJax Posted on: 2005/7/19 11:25
So I may pick up this 77 210

And what I would like to do is swap in a ka24de and 5-speed trans.

I'm looking for as much information as I can get. I was wondering if there was a webpage or a guru I can talk to.

I would like to know what needs to be customed and what can be borrowed from other cars.

Basically looking to find out what type of mess I may get myself into with such a project.

The idea is to make something I can drive daily and something that wont be a slouch when I want to do some spirited driving.

looks tough.

I don't know about the KA24 conversion, but you can easily get a L or NAPS Z Nissan engine in them using a 610 x-member which basically bolts in.

From there the KA24 conversion will be very similar to fitting it to other L series Datsuns - 510, 610 etc.. Try a 510 site for info.

There's a few pics of x-members and stuff in my photo album if you want to have a look - btw, the 210 is known as a 120Y here in Aus, and the 610 as a 180B.Might help you find the photos

Are you gonna carb. the engine or try to keep it a throttle body?If you are gonna try to keep it injected then you can get in a mess.Just start putting it together. I't will all come together as you go.

Your B-210 looks great with those celica wheels. If you do plan to swap in a KA-24 and want to go with carbs, the nissan comp. dept. has an intake for twin sidedraft mikunis or webers. By the way where are you located.

I'm located in Las Vegas. And I have yet to purchase that 210. But I plan on picking it up as soon as I can.

If you're wondering about the stance, the current owner cut the springs and used blocks (something I will have to correct if I get the car).

And it's missing it's bumpers...

Yeah I'm probably going to keep it w/o bumpers, and keep the interior gutted. keep it rat rod :) The metal might get a bit hot in the 120 degree heat here in the deset though :P

This is what the interior looks like right now..

nice B210/120Y that grill looks like a aussie late model 120Y grill - my 1977 120Y had an indentical grille before I removed it...

the US grill would have had the indicators in the grille...

Urban_Myth they aren't that different...

our 120Y has the bracket under the rear bumper for the licence plate where the US spec B210 has the licence plate between the taillights...
The B210 was sold in many european countries but they are the LHD version of what us aussies got...

my reccomendation... get the aussie style bumpers and rear licence plat frame/lights
