How do you fix the rust where the tray joins in the cabin.
its for a 1200 ute
the visible rust is in the cabin not out on the tray.
the join doesnt have a big hole (maybe a pin hole) but its rusting the whole way from drivers to passenger
I know you normally cut and patch a sheet of metal but this is different
anyone had done it before?
advice and tips?

how bad is it? does it need repairing? if not, remove all the loose rust, and get a good rust kill paint, and give it a good thick coat.

Mine's like that too, I'm just gonna clean it up and whack a big sheet of sound deadener along the back wall of the cab. Running a bead of weld might do the trick too.

Hey i just fixed the same problem. if i was you i would do whats dazza sed to do with the rust killer and paint over it. But for it to rust water has to be getting in fom the back i wleded a pice of 2mm angle down the backand put sikaflex over it so it cant get into it againif you dont put anythink over the holes water will rewin u interiour.

My tray / cabin join was shocking...... I oxy-welded up the small spots, cut & re-plated the large spots & soaked the whole shebang a couple of times in rust convertor, then sealed up using a caulking (skin forming) compound.
