#1 Best Car Cover
Razor Posted on: 2005/7/21 0:13
I'm buying a car cover for my 1200 ute and I want to know what is a good car cover that is water proof, UV resistant etc...
I've heard about Kenco being good
Anyone had experience with car covers and can advice me which brand to get

i know I should be putting my ute in the garage but its kinda full right now.

Cheers

I bought one of the cheap ones from supercheap and it lasted for a while and then split right down the middle!! I then spent a little bit more on a heavier blue one (still from supercheap) and it is doing really well so far. I wouldn't say it is really waterproof but it keeps a lot of the water off. I can't remember the brand at the moment sorry. I'll check and get back to you.

Spend as much as you can afford because you only get what you pay for with car covers.

I am like you and the ute won't fit in the garage but it is small enough to fit on the verandah but it still gets a cover put over it.

I have had a few car covers over the years and none of them have been waterproof, they just keep the dust, leaves and bird droppings off.

i go for something made of TYVEK, you'll pay for it though ones at supercheap were up in the $100-130 range

wouldnt a waterproof one sweat, leaving your car wet anyway? just a thought.

I had one of the cheap blue ones from supercheap, was good untill the straps broke in the wind one night and about a week later it blew away.

This interests me too, I live in Eltham and park my barina under the bit with the least trees (only 2 per sq metre instead of 5 ) so what car covers DO deal well with tree sap?

i reckon u could get a nice one made by a car upholsterer, or the like, i got a tonneua made for my ute and was only 200, imsure u could get a custom cover thatd suit better then anything bought, look for a upholsterer that works from home they are always the cheapest. u may pay more but itll be the best way
