need advice - A12 GX head on standard A12

I've got a 1974 120y in excellent condition with only 60,000 original granny km's. I wanted to keep the standard block but im looking for a few more horses under the hood without spending more than $700. Just wanted to know how easily an A12 GX head, manifolds and carbys can be used on the standard A12 engine? what noticeable gains will this have and would it be worth attempting? I also read about a guy that hooked up a T02 turbo sourced out of an ET pulsar, is a small turbo worth considering?
any advice would be much appreciated ...thanks S3108561@student.rmit.edu.au

standard A12 is 68HP GX is 83. Keep in mind the GX engine uses a differant cam it is not a radical grind but better than stock. My guess with just the head would be the 75-78 HP range. You will need the complete GX head with intake and exhaust manifolds.
I would try the Weber 32/36 , header with 2" exhuast , A14 Valves with GX dual valve springs and a hotter cam. You should be able to do that if you shop second hand for carb and header for about $500. That will get you to about 85 HP range maybe 90HP if clean up the head. This is not the trick set-up but good for a street car. Tom You can view topic.
