well some may know my car got registered on monday, so as a bit of a thing me and a mate went for a drive down the tamar (on tuesday) until the egg island road (gravel), i was following another guy who came with us and i slowed down abit cause i wasnt used to the car or the road and didnt want to get too close to him i came around a left hand bend and the back stepped out the car went around and i hit this concrete drain guard thing fair in the middle of the front hub, i basically bent the lower arm in half rooted the ball joint, and steering link thing, and i also think i damaged the crossmember, my dad is pretty pissed and has now taken ownership of the car after he had just spent 1100 bucks getting new tyres and balljoints so yeah i have no $$ to fix the thing. me and my mate are ok i just have a really bad cold thats all. i'll get some pics later

Oh sh*t man that sucks so much! Was that just near Tamar island where the new road works are? My Dad's Falcoooon i was driving the other day round there lost the rear end in some gravel with traffic doing 100+, pretty scary thank god for traction control!!
So whats the verdict? Are you going to fix her up at all? If need be, as i donated my car to Steve Orters out at Mobray (the old sunny sedan) i can go salvage parts from it for an EXTREMLY low price.. The front right ass. is fine but the front left has damage to the castor rod, and the X member mite be a bit bent (tree hit ont he left side) All these parts should bolt up to your 120Y im assuming, or with litlle modification, let me know if you want the stuff. IF you can fork out about $40 i reckon i could the front right/left strut ass, steering link & arms. Dave

umm it was after the batman bridge on the east side about 3 k's down the road theres a gravel road to the right it was on this road about another 3-4 k's it happend, yeah steve orders crushed all the 120y's and most of the other stuff so you car probably went with it, the guy who was in the car with me might have access to a good whole front end, so it WILL BE FIXED!! it handled really well on the gravel and on the tarmac but it just went out and wouldnt come back, but it happend and what can you do about it now, i say we just move on but c'mon 2nd day of rego that sucks the mega balls, i also forgot to mention that we temporarly fixed it my other mate who was in front went to a guy out hillwood and got 120y bits for like $50 so we drove it to my friends house (where we were headed) and waited there with her for a while. until mum, dad, and my aunties partner came with a trailer.

sorry to hear the bad luck
but reckon it's those damn 120y coupes....my first car was a coupe and within the first week the damn gear box dropped 2nd and 3rd gears after a bad 5000+RPM shift and then, once when it was repaired, the rear end seemed really light and let go really easily on a wet road as a telephone pole ran in front of the car, and then in a slow motion slide, movie style .... well you can guess the rest think its the fact the coupe has no back doors that does it ??? but learning my limits early in my driving career was fun hope you get your rig back on the road soon

Glad to hear your all'right.
Almost the exact same thing happend to me a week ago. I went into a righthand corner at "moderate" speed, halfway through the corner there was this perfect mix of sand and gravel on the road....slid out...I hit the left front on the pavement causing major damage to my suspention + plus minor damage to chasse. Been in for repears for the last 5 days but expecting it back today. I'm also expecting to pay school fees on this repair. You can view topic.
