I havnt owned a car with an aftermarket ECU but i work in a dyno tune shop that sells haltech ECU's and we've used them on heaps of cars from an injected HG holden ute to toyota echos to skyline GTR's and havnt had any problems so they're a good little unit

If you have plenty of cash I would be using a MoTec ecu..... Autronic geat a good rap as well.
possibly overkill for an A-series engine though.

depends on where u live and who will tune it as usual. also depends on how much driveability, cold start and fuel consumption mean to u.
the ability of a tuner to get points right quickly is a good consideration as the longer it sits on the dyno at boost and revs the quicker it is gunna blow, for that reason i would not get wolf or ems as they are cumbersome with hand controllers. logging is agood feature as it allows for road tunign or even power pulls on the dyno and changes made withthe motor idling and cooling down before another power run, therefore less stress on motors. in short i would go for autronic but i love them and use them frequently, if u lived near me then definately get autronic!! they are great and well priced as always this is an opinion and therefore may only be correct in my eyes ben http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/datsunb10/ You can view topic.
