#1 E15 Dizzy to A12 Conversion
Razor Posted on: 2005/12/28 11:58
Hi
I've done my research and just want to know whats everyone done, which is easier

take the E15 dizzy top parts and swap it in the A12 dizzy

OR

modify the plate and drill a small hole for the gear?

now I'm not sure by "modifying" the plate does it mean you have to grind the stock E15 dizzy plate, place the 120Y plate (or later plate)
does it need to be welded on to the E15 dizzy plate? not sure what to do on the plate.

If anyones got some pics of their installation that would be great.

Cheers

so do I still grind the E15 stock plate and place the A12 plate on the bottom of the E15 plate?
or just tach weld it and no grinding?

why dont you use the hall effect from a vw with a tp100 module to fire the coil?

i conveted my e-15 ignition to hall effect, and it was piss easy.

before you start slagging, i had to do it for my new ignition setup

i thought the e15 gear on the end of the shaft had a different profile and number of teeth for the internal gear on the a12 so the e15 gear had to be removed and the a12 dissy gear welded/fitted on. The e15 aslso apprears to be 10-15mm longer in the shaft.
Im going on the info given to me by the guy i bought my dissy off, he modded it himself (it might be a n12 dizzy though not the n13 series one).
