can you pull out an A series gear box without taking out the engine? also how do you pull diffs out of a 120Y?

yes the bestway in my opinion is to un bolt it from the engine and tailshaft and support it sumhow from underneath then take off the g/box crossmember and bobs ur uncle cheers

you can pick the box up with one hand!!
I did it once in a thousand 4 door - piss easy

so i basically unbolt it and drop it out

i dont have a work shop manuel

Then it's about time you changed all that.

I would also reccomend unbolting the exuast front pipe from the manifold. This allows the engine to tilt down slightly so you can slide the gearbox back without hitting the tunnel.
