hi guys for all who are interested i thought that i would tell you about my dato 1200 coupe. it has an A-15 with twin 40mm webers, ford laser flat top pistons, big cam (wont go at under 3000rpm), massive head work, lightened flywheel, exceedy racing clutch and is fully balanced (rev's to 8000 no worries). this is backed up by a nissan 60 series 4speed box and a 4.11 lsd for road use and a 4.8 welded for circuit racing. suspension wise i have stanza struts, lengthened lower control arms and massive 28mm whiteline sway bars front and rear that are fully ajustable it also has koni fully ajustable struttops. it has a cams aproved rolcage and sparco and recaro race seats with street legal 4pt harnesses. the motor puts out 109hp at the treads and will overtake my dad's BA XR8 UTE which is a big thing for a learner driver (but dont fear ive been driving competitivly since i was 10) please let me know what you guys think. the car was previously David Male's and i purchased it for $4200 with extra rally and advan tyres. once again let me know what you guys think and if someone lets me know how to put pics up i will gladly do that. thanks

John Cain tuned mine too and on the 16km trip into town today (for a blue slip tomorrow) it was pinging it's head off. I really need better fuel....& another engine tuner.

I'll have mine at Bathurst in November but I don't think I'll run then. Motor will still be a bit fresh and my driving skills need a bit of work before I attempt any serious motorsport.

Will be good to have a look at your car though. I'll say g'day if I see you there. Possum1200 from Orange might also come down. He should anyway.

what engine do you have in your coupe and what carbies. john just told me to run bp ultimate + octane booster and that cured the ping. on john's dyno after the tune it made 60hp at the wheels (on his dyno) what did yours make?

It's an a15 (1608cc) with twin 45's. I haven't tried any of those octane boosters in it yet but I am running it (trying to run it) on BP Ultimate. I think there were a few guys on here said it was better fuel than Shell Optimax.

John has only tuned the thing to get it running and told me at the time to find better fuel (it had Ultimate in it when I took it to him). No HP figures as yet. I'll go back in about 1500km's and see what it does then.
