#1 Ultimate Stopping Power?
datto_1200 Posted on: 2001/3/12 2:21
Im just wondering if anyone knows of a ventilated front disk that can be converted to a stanza strut? Preferably with the Nissan bolt pattern. Ive had a look at early pulsar
and those wedge shape magna models but am not sure if front wheel drives are a totally different set up! They do have beefy discs though. Any thoughts?

do u already have stanza struts on the car yet? Cos if u use 200B struts, u can use commodore vented disks, or countless
other very good combinations...
if u already have the stanza struts, i dunno. if u want info on how to do the 200b swap, let me /us know.
cheers, linc.

I am interested in your 200B strut conversion. What are difficulties faced when installing into B110? Are there larger discs (10 ") that can fit onto original struts? What
sort of calipers work best with larger discs while using 13" wheels?
Cheers, Brian

Ok we need to look at your requirements first.
Must fit under (standard) Datsun 13inch wheels.
..You can only use the local 200B discs and calipers! These have long/skinny brake pads. Whereas the imported ones are more square, and use aluminium finned calipers that hit on the inside
of a 13' wheel. Some mags are ok though. I would more strongly recommend that you use the large axle 180B struts, so you can modify them later to the same big brakes that many modified
1600's use. As the previous guy said, you first need to put the stanza lower arms and radius rods in to enable the strut to go onto the balljoint. Also you will need to carve off the
spring cup and weld on a 1200 one, and then use the 1200 spring and strut top. This was discussed in a previous thread.

I know that it has been answered before here but what is the 200B? Is it the 79 - 82 210? Here in Anerica, they do not use the 200B designation. I want to put on some larger brakes while my
new 1200 is apart for restoration. How much of a problem is the 210 conversion. I have a torch and welder so doing the work is no problem, I just have to know what to do. My uncle owns a
wrecking yard but it has been a while since he has had a B210 or even a 210 in there. He does have a 1980 200 ZX automatic with the nap Z 2000 EFI engine and is hasn't been stripped any yet.
I am not sure what went wrong with the car but it is all intact and not wrecked. Usually that means that the motor or trans has gone bad.

So what is the actual difference between the 200B and the stanza strut? And Im assuming that the commodore discs would have to be drilled with the nissan pattern? What
are the other ventilated discs for the 200B strut you mention? Any with the nissan pattern?
Also, does anyone know of an LSD centre (8 bolt pattern) that would fit into a ute diff ie. off a early navara or something?
Thanks for your help.

I dont think theres much difference between the 2. I've never seen 200b struts up close but the both have the same upgradable options. I was going to use stanza stuts but opted for C210
Skyline stuts. The Skyline struts are about 1.5-2" shorter than the stanza strut which i thought would be better if i was lowering the car alot. The stub axle is the same as the 200b/
stanza and caliper bolt spacing is the same as 200b/stanza. I have Honda 10" vented disc's bolted to the struts and Toyota Landcruiser 4 spot calipers. Its basically the exact same setup
as the stanza struts but shorter to allow a bit more travel in the shocky. I havent fit them yet but will be in the process this weekend. I have photos of the struts in "struts,
calipers, rotor pics" section.

If you want Commodore sized disks have a look at the Vanette set up. The disks are the same size as a Commodore as are the calipers. Don't know how the caliper will space up to
the strut but it would be worth a try. A mate of mine was going to look at this but I don't think he has yet.
