you mean the old buick 215 aluminum v8 That rover bought?

My dad had one in his Jeep, way back when. 310 or 320 HP in stock form.

But we did sell one to a guy that was going to use it for a competition chainsaw.

Giddyup and hang on

You'd want to ask dat383 about that, he knows a lot about V8's in 1200's.

With the Lexus v8 being cheap and readily available, the rover v8 is no longer a good option.

I have done a Rover conversion into a coupe as well as a small block Chev, both are a straight forward job. The Rover though old is still a good contender for conversions nice and light and relatively small. The biggest job is building a tunnel to suit a strong gearbox . They sit between the strut towers nicely.

Any pics of the conversion? I plan to use a T5 box.

The 1uzfe is a little too large for a 1200.

Cheers

...Rover bought??
I could have sworn it was an engine developed by and Australian engineer, initially for Holden, but found its way to Rover. Then Buick purchased the manufacturing right from Rover.
Does anyone know for sure ??

sorry,i've been to busy rounding up sheep-apparently.
i have to disagree about the tunneling business.
i run a standard tunnel with my chev and glide.
you should ask yourself, how much time and money do i want to pump into this?
i'm against anything british,so i'd rather cut of my dick than use a rover v8.
the toyota v8 is a top idea but your gonna cop some crap because its a toyota in a nissan.
