Hiding wiring in engine bays - ideas??

Gday all,
I am just about to have a break from work and plan to spend some much needed time working on my ute fixing a few little gremlins and other bits and pieces. Has anyone spent much time cleaning up their wiring in the engine bay or interior? and if so, what did you do to hide as much wiring as possible? I have the usual black tubing that runs about the engine bay with the wiring running through it, and other areas just have wires here and there with no covering and it looks ugly!!

I have this stuff called heatshrink that is like a sleeve that you cover the cables with and then heat it up with a heat gun. The sleeve/tube shrinks and huggs the cable like a glove its also waterproof and stops anything making contact. You cant get this stuff from your auto store its used in electrical industrial applications for high voltage powercable. I havnt fitted it to my Ute yet because the engine bay is being painted at the moment. But you can get it in Red/White/Blue and Black. the datsun colors what more could you want.
And i will be running the Battery in the Tray too.

if you got enough holes in the firewall(not rust holes) you'd be amazed how many wires you can hide behind it. my advise. get an aftermarket computer... there goes half your wires already. and you can take most the sh*t off the plenum and above the fuel rail. looks alot tidier... can we see some pics?

yeah i've used heat shrink 2, common with cleanin up stereo wires n that... great stuff n pretty cheap if u buy it in long strips instead of pre cut (packaged)
can even get it online at computer sites n can get uv reactive so u can use it with a black light... looks good for internals

Thanks guys,
Yeah I have an aftermarket ECU (EMS 4424) and the battery is in the tray which helps clear up some space in the engine bay. The heat shrink is an awesome idea - i have heaps of it lying around (my old man is a sparkie)... ill give that a whirl and see how it goes. I'll take a pic of the engine bay this week and post it up. The hard job is going to be the dash wiring - there is wires going everywhere, wires going nowhere.. out of looms, into looms, its bloody ridiculous! I am leaving that till last - dont want to even think about it at this stage....

Yeah the UV stuff would look good in the engine bay at night!
