Will it rev? It sounds more like an air leak. Are you running the standard computer?

You'd be surprised how much a small air leak like the boost guage line can effect the idle.

Remember there are fittings under the throttle that need blocking. One on the side of manifold just behind throttle and then there are 4 little pipes hanging out between the runners for cylinder 3 and 4 I think. They don't all need blocking as they won't all be hooked up to manifold pressure but one of them is connected to the vacuum line that runs to the fuel pressure reg so make sure that one is either blocked or bypassed.

If you want to check if a coil pack is shagged, just start the car and one by one unplug the coilpacks, and listen to the engine idle - if it changes to a more lumpy sound (loss of spark in one cylinder), then the coilpack should be fine, and if it makes no change (had no spark to start with), then it is pretty likely to be stuffed (or the wiring to that coil). Make sure you plug each coilpack in before testing the next....

How long since the CA's been running?
If it's been sitting long enough for the fuel to dry up in the injectors, it can leave a varnish behind which can cause the injectors to stick. If this is the problem, you can unstick them by running 12V (from your battery) directly accross the injector terminals. They are a 9V injector, so it's perfectly safe, the extra voltage can give just enough "oomph" to unstick them. If that doesn't do it you're probably looking at getting your injectors serviced or new ones. I went through this whole process getting my CA to fire.... When I finally fixed the injectors, I found out I also had 2 stuffed coil packs .You can view topic.
