Tam (wife) and I are stripping down our 1200 Ute CA18DET to turn it into our new promo car to take to the next Summernats, and other events around Australia. We dont want a total Trailer Show Pony, we want somthing that most of our customers want, have or are looking to do.
Saying this, i do want a very tidy and unique car that will perform on the road, track and show.
I'm going to try and keep a log on the progress, as it may help some members out with there conversions and whats involved.

The first thing that im going to tackle, is the engine rebuild. I'm aiming for around the 200kw at the wheels using the standard Ecu.
This will involve forged pistons/rods, rings, s/s head gasket, race bearings, machine work, adjustable cam gears, cams, bigger injectors, bigger air flow meter, custom exhust manafold and bigger turbo etc.
At the same time i will be fitting larger trans tunnel, fitting bigger brakes, at lot of suspention work, custom body work, new paint work and a new interior. I'm going to most work myself.
All this work needs to be completed by the start of December 2007, to allow for running in at finishing touches.
Its a lot of work to do, and i have paid the entry to the Nats, so there is the goal to aim for.
