The nose of the H165 is longer than a H145 or H150 by about 80mm or so.

H150 and H165 share the same flanges though.

I tried to use a H150 tailshaft from a 120y with my H165 ute diff but the tailshaft was too long. Im going to try a sunny H150 tailshaft for size to see if will fit.

sunny one will be the same length as the 120y one, if they were both running the same gearbox

Damn, looks like tailshaft shortening time. Im still determined to find one that fits up to the H165. Maybe C20 van, did they come in auto?

A H150 centre will fit into a H145 housing wont it? I bought a H150 centre and auto tailshaft today for the daily driver. Noticed that the H150 pinion is much larger than the H145, looks identical to my H165 so this is where they get their strength from.

just get a bluebird tailshaft and pay the whole $100 to get it shortened and balanced

Nah if im paying money Im putting the engine back further, I was going to do that when the next motor gets built in a couple years, still have to get the damn thing finished and some track time on it.

So you reckon sunny and 120y could be the same length if same boxes and both H150? Did sunnys come out with a H165 if so what models, If thats the case a Sunny Auto H165 tailshaft will do the job nicely for now.

120y and sunny h150 tailshafts that mate up to a 56a 4 speed are both the same, got 2 sitting in the shed

no sunnys had h165s, stanzas did
but ive also looked at there tailshafts and they are to long....auto one may be shorter though

1200post, cost me $80 to get my bluebird one shortened and balanced at a place in north geelong....but probably not much use to you as the cost of posting it there and back would make it kinda pointless

Arrrgh!!

Nissans interchangeability is failing me.

At least I know where I can find more tailshafts for the daily.

Does the H150 centre fit the H145 housing with any problems, doesnt look to be an issue.

Everyone in Adelaide charges at least $250 for a tailshaft modification and balance. I need to move to the eastern states I think, for the services and definitely the racing.
