just wondering how much my stock dato 1200 ute weighs , got told 700 kg but says some were 1000...
and how much the can have on the back load wise thanks

go down to your local tip and drive over the weighbridge.
GVM and TARE weight should be on the rego papers, the difference should be the legal load... I think

My compliance plate says 1195 kg's from my old 76 model...

My ute has got 690kg on the rego papers.
They go on the heaviest variant in the model range for engineering if that's what's you're wondering about, which is the wagon at 720kg.

Mine's 730 kg with A14 and 60A 5 speed. Optima batt. and GTR seats (kinda heavy) too.
edit: that's also full tank.

I always understood the ute to be a half tonner or 500kg load capacity.

stock they weigh just under 700 and the gvm is 1200 so its got half ton capacity.

the back end of my datsun got rusted out so we took off the back end and are currently fixing a mini one tonner flat top tray on it. it wont really change the weighting will it? depends on whether we use an aluminium or steel tray...
