had i idea and i cant see why it wouldnt work
hear goes a motor ( sr20 ) hook up a gass bottle thats filled with pure oxegen . so it burns perfect . have a regulater so you can set the psi . ( has high as you want ) now it doesnt last foreva , but for the drags you could run wat eva psi you want , with no lag , and pure oxegen would be great ?? let me know wat ya think or have i over looked some thing that would make it not work ? im shore i you neva get around to doin it but i wonder why noone hasnt done it ?

Pure oxygen is unstable to burn. Plus the gas bottle would have to be huge for flow and volume.. They say a prostock car consumes enough air in one pass to fill the goodyear blimp so you'd need lots of compressed tanks.

ok well maybe a richer mix of oxegen ?
and im no math xpert but a motor running for 10 sec at say 9000 rpm and the combustion chamber being 1 litre quick math in my head = 6000 litres of air and compressed air gets a lot of air in a bottel ( im unshore on how much . ) but theres a lot of room in a boot for say 5 or 10 bottles .?? .

This type of thing was experimented with during the second world war on aircraft engines. Pure oxygen is too reactive. It's inclined to explode from the heat when it contacts the inlet valve. Plus the even bigger problem is that it just burns too hot. The pistons would melt in no time.
Think, our atmosphere is (roughly) 23% oxygen, and 75% nitrogen (Which is inert) you'd need 4X the amount of fuel to maintain stoich. On the other hand, Nitrous oxide is only 66% oxygen, and 33% nitrogen. Which is an oxygen richer mix, but not as bad as pure oxygen. However with most wet nitrous kits extra fuel is also added. The previous comments about gas consumption is right. On a big snotty engine a ten pound bottle is quickly used.

arrrgh. all these people calling it a bottle!!! thats a carton where i come from. Its a cyclinder!!! bescide my little tirade
to work out the cyclinder capacity, its the water capacity times the maximum working pressure. ie 200bar cyclinder with 2l water capacity gives 400 litres of oxygen. medical grade oxygen is about 99.9% pure, whereas industrial grade is about 97% pure. then you have to think about the actual weight of a cyclinder. Ever had to carry even an empty oxy cyclinder, like the g size ones! they must weight about 30 kgs empty, plus the weight of the oxygen (yes it does add up) The oxygen levels in a given atmosphere are the key component to how reactive the surronding gasses are. (ie how explosive). i forget the flamepoint of petrol, but its faily low (about 150 deg C), but that is measured at sea level at normal atmopsphere (21% oxygen, 78.9%nitrogen and 0.1% trace gasses) If you increase the level of oxygen, not only do you increase the burning temp as a result of excess oxygen bieng able to bond, but you also lower the flamepoint. Preignition would be a massive problem. let alone needing a block and pistons made form titanium or something exotic like that to cope with the additional temps and related stresses. flash point flame point stuff I guess that it hasent been done since its just not pratical to have it all work.

It will burn your motor to the ground its like oxy cutting in side your engine.

Every combustable thing in the engine will burn, starting with the carbon and oil residue then the aluminum...
you'd need to add a balanced amount proportionally with the fuel. What if you only doubled the oxygen content, and stuffed in more fuel... It'd probably work so well the pistons will enter a low earth orbit. You can view topic.
