Single Dellorto DHLA 40/Lynx Manifold vrs downdraught 38DGES/Cannon manifold

A mate told me about using a sidedraught or a downdraught Weber on a Z24 motor. Looking into a Fisher or S/U set up incidentally.
Anybody has any Fisher carb experience?
