Removing door trim

whats the best method for removing the chrome trim strips that sit at the base of the door window glass w/o damaging them?
I gently tried the same method i used for the drip rail trim & stupidly sliced open my finger with a fairly sharp putty knife, I'd like to not do that again

Theres allways a risk of bending or damaging the strip - especially if there old and rusted on. There just held on by 4-5 clips. If the clips are rusted into the door you may have a problem getting them off. But - the best way - i have found - is just to roll the window grab it firmly at one end - and just try to reef it up. Dont know how much more help i can give except just try to be careful??

Is this for painting?
If so, get the window out first then from inside the door get a long flat head screwdriver up inside the door and tap the moulding from underneith till it comes off, do it evenly so not to bend it. You can view topic.
