Has anyone done a 120y CA18DET Conversion?

Hello, I bought a CA18 in a 120y and brought it home from S.A. and have now done a transplant into another 120y that didn't have a thrashed body.
I put everything in and tried to copy the wiring and have missed something, does any one know how to do the wiring for this conversion. It does nothing when I turn the key, not a sound nothing. And yes the Battery was connected. Thanks in advance

Yeah I tried a search, not much help there. The original loom I have transplanted and my electrican brother helped me, but the previous owner had begun to add in things like central locking and an alarm and looks like he couldnt be bothered and just stuffed a big ball of wires under the dash...!

Hmmm, I had a play around and have power to the fuel pump, dash lights (as in the charge light), turbo timer(that little timer thing with the button on the dash) and the starter motor. I think the coils have power as the car will crank, then try to start but as soon as you stop the key turn it dies which I think is a lack of fuel , which would probaly mean the ecu. I had one spark lead out with a plug in it and got a small shock when I cranked altough I couldnt see a spark.

did it all work in the other 120y ?
wat fule pump are you useing ? try another lead and another plug . coil packs normaly dont all go at wonce so if you got good spark out of another lead i would say replace coil packs

weak spark problems can be difficult.
I don't think the old test of taking the lead out and trying to get a visible spark is a very good test, making the spark jump in the open air and under cylinder pressure are quite different, i've had things happen that caused there to be a spark present, but not one that could ignite fuel, basically the spark blows out as the cylinder pressure rises.

Sounds like you are losing power to the ECU causing it to "reboot" when going from "start" to "ign".

It has 2 fuel pumps and a surge tank, one pump is a carter and the other im not sure. But they both turn on. Yeah this setup worked in the other 120y, but somewhere between getting it out and back in I've missed something. Its hot now, but later I'll try a differnt spark and lead. I'd like to know where the main power input is for the ecu, I look at the loom and it doesnt mean much to me :~. Thanks for the help tho
