hey still looking for a datsun 1200 ute. if anyone can help me out it wood be much appreciated. looking for one around $6000 in decent condition with very little to no rust.

yeah im been checking it everyday. just i live in sydney and travelling is a bit too hard. most of them seem to be in victoria.

Just do what i have done many times. Call the owners and make sure you trust them, get them to send as many pics as they can, especially of any areas where there may be rust like sills, floor pan, back tray, engine bay etc and lots of the paint work and engine bay. Well lets just say the whole car then and buy it sight unseen and get it transported to you. I have transported 2 cars from qld and 1 from vic and have never paid more than 500 for transport. Just have to call around a bit. The only state really that is super expensive is WA for obvious reasons.

When the cars have turned up i have only been dissapointed once but that was because i was only spending 1500 bucks and i didn't really ask enough questions or get enough pics. The others were actually better than i expected.

I know it's a risk but they are getting rarer and harder to find in any sort of reasonable condition so i guess these risks need to be taken.

In fact this is what i will be doing in a few weeks when i am ready to buy my next car. Especially as i am looking to spend quite a bit of money and i tend to find cars in qld and sa especially are a lot cheaper than in nsw.

The only other option really is be patient. But like i said they are getting harder to find so you may be waiting a while for the right one to pop up locally.
