Hi I'm new and need advice

Hello,
I am new to the Datsun 1200 forum and soon to be the owner of one too. I drive a 1973 Opel GT as of right now. Recently my neighbors were evicted and their family moved into the house. In the yard is a 1200 coupe that they said, "if you can get it out of the yard, you can have it". Being a fan of old cars I couldn't help myself. So, after getting it to start today I decided that it is worth fixing up. It is going to need new brakes and a clutch piston. So, I was wondering where I can get after-market or re-built parts for Datsun 1200's mainly I am looking for things such as: Brakes, engine gaskets, and clutch parts your help would be much appreciated and you would be contributing to the restoration of a classic -Aron

Hi OWGT, welcome to the club.
I buy most of my parts from Schucks, the local Pacific Northwest auto parts store. And some from http://rockauto.com (sale stuff mostly, yep I just bought new brakes and a clutch piston): and some from Nissan. And some from eBay (rare stuff and bargains) About 5 years ago I bought a 1200 in Lynnwood, same deal, previous owner moved out and the landlord wanted it gone (but I had to pay $150 for it).

Nice! thanks for the info. I'm glad to see someone else with a 1200 lives in the area.
Does shucks sell any specialty parts? I didn't think they did.

Yes, Shucks's has all kinds of specialty parts catalogs, just go to the back counter and ask. But there are not many Datsun 1200 specialty parts from any manufacturer.
They can get most of the regular Datsun 1200 maintainence parts. You can view topic.
