i can help you with fitting a LSD into the H165 housing. 1.5, 2way KAAZ, cusco etc etc.

Datsun 1200 rear axle assembly width is 1305 mm drum to drum. Tech wiki

I wish there was a easy bolt in diff. I have a 510 wagon diff with 4:38 truck gears, 200sx rear disc. i think axles are only 23 spline. when i weld spider gears i break axles like dry twigs! :(

yowl guys just came back from the wreckers again. the diff im looking at is 100mm longer. do u think in a race car which im rolling the original guards and using (hopefully) ET pulsar rims (FWD) will fit without sticking out the guards?

what engine have you got in the car?

H165 ute diff out of ute is probably your best bet, but it doesn't come in an LSD. I had a H165 ute diff in my CA powered coupe and it handled the power fine. It should be relitively easy bolt in solution, i think it'll bolt straight in.

Otherwise you might have to go R31 lsd if you want to get serious.

100mm wider will stick out of the guards, you'll definatley need flares!

hey i dont wanna steal this thread but i figure its easier than starting a new one on diffs if not i'll delete this post for ya matto

im just cirious if anyone know's the size of a 120y diff and a 1200 ute diff lenght and the length from the inside off one leaf mound to the other just so i can compare them to my stock 1k one cause i wont have a worry fitting wheels under the guards

thanx

120Y and 1200 ute length is exactly same as 1200 Coupe/Sedan/Wagon. B10 length is narrower. It's all in that link in my previous post.

The measurement at the spring perches I don't know.

Its not really that expensive to get a diff shortened, i'm putting an SR20DET in my 120y and i'm using a cut down 28spline r31 diff. Its going to be plenty strong enough, i'll prob keep it open for a little bit, until i can afford an lsd

I'm getting my cut down at DR Datto on the gold coast, they're good and they don't overcharge like some places do.
I only paid 100 for my diff, i had to pull it out myself but i got all the handbrake stuff, discs rotors etc plus i got all the control arms and stabilizers etc that i'm gonna make into anti tramp bars.

Also doesn't topgear make LSD's for h165? all alloy too i think?

Hope i helped a bit
Ty
