Datsun 1200 Motor Reving at 13500Rpm??

Hi my dads owned alot of datsuns in his time and he told me that he bought this 120y race car and it had a a12 motor in it and it had v8 vavle springs out of a holden would that make the car rev to 13500 rpm?

Sure, and Formula 1 engines rev to 18,500. They use air valves instead of steel spring valves.

Of course it'd rev to 13,500rpm.
Check out Marlin Tomlinsons 1000cc A10, that pulls 12000 pretty easy.

With enough money anything is possible.
Is it likely that it went to 13 500 and still made power? I doubt it, port sizes alone would need to be MASSSSSIVE to support that type of flow, with that type of build the last think you would worry about is using some old V8 single spring per valve setup. You can view topic.
