#1 Single Dellorto setups
Wurzel Posted on: 2010/5/12 23:43
Just wondering what peeps advices or experience with this for an A15.
Just had a workmate give me one off his old Gemini.
While I noticed the twin setups are more common, wat wold the advantages/disadvantages be over the existing 32/36 or SUs?
I know Redline still do manifolds for them,Just wondering if itd be worthwhile pursuing.
Thanks in advance.

Yeah Scully,

Go the single sidedraught. The advantage of a big sidedraught vs. SU is obviously costs and parts availability. As for performance, I'm not really in a position to offer advice as I've never run SU's.

As for the SUs/Big Sidedraught VS. the 32/36, I'd expect less power from the downdraught.

There is an old lynx(?) manifold that has the crossover arrangment of intake runners, there was one on ebay for cheap, that would have been ideal.

(I have a weber 45 DCOE that I'm about to rebuild- and I'm keen to sell it!!)

Ah bummer, had linkages and all! How much did it go for do you remember?
Im at a bit of a crossroads, have SU manifold, and now a single Dellorto :/ ...hmmm which way go?

Like $185 with no bids.

It's a round port though. But a round port head on an A15 can be quite powerful. elemental_funk has this setup with a big 45 weber.

I'll PM you about the manifold.

I've been trying to get some *results with redline in the US and *Bud seems to ignore my emails in light of other customers who may or may not have nascars

*Bud is the reps' name

Also *results as in the oval port 45 single manifiold

As far as I can find there are no options available for an oval port, new bolt pattern head. Do they even make old bolt pattern oval ports?
So yeh unfotunatley all the manifolds available are for a12. Wish I knew this earlier.

Kinda sucks I was looking forwards to this setup over twins and Sus. :(

I'm confused, what's happened?

Have a look at the mounting bolt patterns on the far right, all the single DHLA and DCOE manifolds are round port and set up for the a12s it seems.
My a15 head has the later bolt pattern, so without putting an a12 head on an a15 (not even sure if thats physically possible?), or changing the flange, looks like this just aint gunna happen :( (theres still a little part of me that WANTS to make this happen...the part that likes to do everything the hard way) so suggestions welcome ;)
