Hi Guys & Girls,

after rust treating mine i hit it with 2k primer and 2k top coat (left over from another build), then i put "motorspay" ute liner over that, the first litre i used barely covered it.. and i didnt realise it came in a better colour, so i put on an extra litre in a lite grey (the rest of the ute is white), so far its lasted over a year but it does scratch off if you abuse it, but most of the time it goes back to the 2k top coat. but i dont use the tray all the often and mainly throw in tyres, rims, pit bike, bmx or parts from wreckers...

Personally would not use bitumen paint.
Seen a ute done with the spray on poly urethane ute liner and that looks sweet and wears well. No idea on cost though and you cant do it urself

fibre glass?
steel checkerplate? deck it out with wood. go to clark rubber and get those foam/rubber pads and stick them down http://www.clarkrubber.com.au/matting ... ring-vehicle-matting.html

Yeah Ian had his sons utes done with Rhino lining ages ago, works a treat. I inquired about getting my ute done mabey 2 years ago and was told it would be at least $700. The prep for it is basically ensuring it is rust free and putting a decent primer onto the surface. They may do that part as well but I assumed that wasn't part of the price.

Hi,
When we did my son's ute we used some two part epoxy paint left over from lining a water tank where I work. Applied with a foam roller (fabric one leaves strands in finish).Did the floor black and sides white. No undy, straight on clean bare metal. It has a softer feel like all epoxy finishes but wears ok and certainly stops any rusting. He has a heavy rubber mat on the floor and I use the ute to transport machinery a bit. Dulux Durebild STE.Don't know how small a quantity you can buy as you'd only need a litre or 2 and its an industrial product. We had 20 and 4 litre tins at work. H.
