CHARCOAL CANISTER

hey guys my datsun 1200 ute ca18det is almost finish was just wondering if any of u guys know weather u need to hook up ur charcoal canister for engineering if so have any of u guys hooked it up to original furl tank? im running a surge tank obvasilly any pointers on wat u guys have done cheers

Used original 1200 fuel line as breather line to charcoal canister

The later Australia 1200s use a charcoal cannister. htere's a pciture aorund here somewhere.

my understanding of it, is that you need to run your fuel tank vent into
the canister and then into your intake manifold via a 1 way valve.. (usually via the pcv system) the cannister is just there to store any vapour while there is no vacuum to recyle it..

Yes, that is Fume Control. It prevents the petrol fumes from entering the atmosphere.
Datsun1200.com wiki has details: http://datsun1200.com/modules/mediawi ... ex.php?title=Fume_Control In older 1200s, the valve at the front goes to the air cleaner. In newer 1200 utes, it goes to the Charcoal Cannister.
