chooie Posted on: 2010/8/12 1:30
Has anyone got photos or info on rear sway bars, The car has a Hilux diff... no lateral locator(Panhard bar)

Photos would be great, Not sure what they call the system.. A straight bar with arms going back with adjustment holes, rose jointed armes going vertically to the body???

Makes for a good photo but drivers rear tyre is rubbing big time!!

nice shot, wow that tyres rubbing alright!

what size bar do you run in the front?

would adding a rear bar help keep the car on the ground?
or unload the inside rear wheel aswell? (scary)

I'd go for upsizing the front bar first, as this will stop the front end diving over the outside front tyre & causing the body to rub. Pedders used to make a rear sway bar for the 1200, I used that with a big Selby front bar on my 1200 sedan. So there's Selby's, Whiteline at Minto, Jim Hunter Suspensions or K-Mac. I think the front bar I had was something like 25 mm, with an 18 mm rear bar, but these are long gone, so I can't measure them for you. Maybe you should consider going up in front spring rates, too. My Sunny sedan has something like 300 pound springs from Liverpool Springs, that certainly stopped the diving under brakes & around corners & helped with turn in. It also has a 22mm Whiteline Stanza front swaybar & a standard Stanza rear bar. A 120Y front swaybar & road springs just don't work on the track.

It's actually the rear tyre rubbing, I will try and upload the next pic.. Shows what is going on back there well.

B310gx, I am already running a 25mm front bar with 350 pound front springs... The front feels about right, I now want to start adding a rear bar, but can't find any photos of the type I explained in the first post.
