hey im Lauren and just moved to melbourne, really interested in restoring a 1200 bad boy ute but ive only seen like 2 datsuns here so far, anyone out this way seen any for sale or selling?

Try member tommo73 he may have one for sale or know where to find one. Otherwise keep an eye out on ebay or the Trading Post. They seem to come up quite regularly. What sort of thing are you after, one that requires resto or one thats already tidy?

melb is the place to be when finding dattos

Yeah there are quite a number of 1200's floating around melbourne but seems to be quite a few in Qld as well. Qld seems to be the place to pick up modified 1200's. The mod plate scheme seems to be (or was?)a little easier up there. Maybe it's just the fact that Kev Rowley pumped out quite a few CA18 Dattos up there that all the ones I'm interested in seem to be in Brisbane.

yeah i dont mind something that needs a little restoring, because id be tweaking it with new paint, shaving the doors down and everything else on my check list lol yeah there were a tonne up in sydney and newcastle but im trying to find something a little closer to home

Tommo has an absolute mint one, factory basically it's a good start but if you're going to shave it and all that then maybe finding one that has already been stripped or modified would be the way to go.

I might be able to help! I've got a part restored 1200 ute for sale, spent COUNTLESS hours on the body, a lot of things have been shaved etc.

Hi lauren I might also be able to help you out. 6 months reg. All quarters replace 5 years ago but its getting a few little rust spots nothing bad though. Engine replace 2 years ago and other things done along the way.
