I'm trying to find my chassis number for a '69 datto 1000 ute. Would anyone have a clue where its stamped?

It should be on the drivers side, in the engine bay, up towards the back. It could be under the compliance plate, or just next to it.

It wil be B20XXXXX

Yep just aft of the fuse box.

Well thats not so good. The person I bought this shell off of has taken the plate off, and I'm pretty sure a '69 vehicle was pre-compliance plates.

Lets see what fun I will have with motor reg.

The chassis/model number is stamped on the engine bay wall on the drivers side just after the little fuse box. If you still can't find it I can upload a pic of where to find it?

You can buy blank plates new and all they really tell you is the model type, year of manufacture, engine capacity, engine number and body number. So you can certainly get a replacement as the important part (body number) is stamped to the actual body.

Under further inspection I managed to find it, a combination of sand and spray paint was obscuring a large part of it. Thanks for all the help guys.
