This one is correct. The tabs hold it on. The other one is incorrect.

Looks like you need some timber flooring

Early ones had only a few barb things, and were probably moreexpensive to make. and newer ones had heaps of barbs and were cheaper.

I bought a set from japan and they were like the second type.

dattodude, are you saying the caps in both photos are OK?

I've only seen the one type, and have about 10 of these caps (DX Style Hubcaps)

timeber flooring and that dog are a no no. unless you want nige over there always polishing your wood.

as dd said that one is easier to fit, it holds on in place, however i have used the other type on a stock wheel (12 inch) and it never came off.

Yes, the ones that have barbs all the way around are a mid-71+ revision. In Australia at least.

My umodified 71 sedan has the first sort, that are more likely to come off.
I have a replacement sat, as I was saying, to replace them with.

It's all about the securing mechanism. The design of the hubcap face is the same as far as I can see.

The hubcaps were probably changed at the same time that the stainless strips below the door windows started to include black plastic ends on them instead of being all stainless.
