Oil sensor and water temp thread size
lightload

Hi good people,
My oil temp gauge or sender has failed the day after I bought my ute so I thought I'd install some spare gauges neatly under the dash but have just realised that both the water sensors on the head have a larger thread. Does anyone know the exact size so I can make a bush to adapt it to the aftermarket sensors? I'm also going to put in a oil gauge and warning light but I'm not sure where to mount the sensors as I didnt notice anything attached to the block that looked like it was connected to an oil galley. Any sugestions, not keen on spending money on a oil filter plate. Thanks, Daniel

The oil pressure switch threads is 1/8 BSPT (british standard pipe tapered). It screws directly into the oil pump housing.
If you fit a Tee connector, you can fit both the sensor and a separate guage. Tees are available in the usual auto supply stores such as Repco or Oreillys. You can view topic.
