estyre Posted on: 2011/6/23 11:08
Hey everyone I need a new clutch for my new motor

It's a mild a15 and ill be running a 4sp 60a aswell

What are my options ? I know of the HD RMP clutch kits ,but what else can I use that won't be too bad in traffic and will last and NOT slip !!

the vanette a15 hd ones are ok, if your dirfiting or rubbish like that, they are cheap enought to chew through.

i never had a drama with them.

Ok ,so thats just the rpm clutch kit

I won't be drifting it ,just for my ute

Would I be better off getting a ceramic clutch or something ,I want something that will last

always comes down to how you treat it to how long they last...

Exedy HD.

Or the stock clutch. You don't need anything hardcore unless you are racing it.

I've had a std clutch and it slipped like anything

Treat em mean ,keep em keen Haha ,ill be on my p plates so I'm going to hurt it abit when I go to the drags and stuff

I can get a HD rpm kit for $117 but I don't want something that won't last and slip and stuff ,rather spend it once and not have to pull the flywheel out everytime I do a clutch

I used a brass button and it was an absolute pain in the ass, never again. Made me look like a top bogan dropping the clutch and spinning the wheels when trying to get up the driveway but that's all I could do. Even the hill up the street was a pain to get off when I had to stop for traffic.

Replaced the pressure plate with a softer unit and it was much better. Slight clutch slip when hammering it, but that was hammering it and rolling the clutch on so all in all a good combo but would much prefer HD.

Don't waste your time with any of the race stuff. Get that thing on the road with a fresh kit and fresh flywheel, if she slips the HD clutch then buy a brass button/ceramic and I'll eat my words.

EDIT: eat my words??? you know what I mean.... 'I'll take back what I said'.

My A12 pushing 24psi and 28* timing didn't slip a Exedy HD one so I dont think you will ever slip it in a NA setup.
