Its a pretty compact looking engine, no extended skirt like the A series but high port inlets in crossflow configuration. Pitty we dont have them in Australia otherwise it would make a great looking retro engine with simple to source T5 5 speed & doesnt look to far out of place from original. I cant find pics with the ancillaries though

wouldnt be surprised if besides 86mm pistons all chevy smallblock parts prob interchange.
Really like high inlet crossflow design with lightweight block that can take a t5. The 2.2 is the popular one have a look roller rockers turbos and more http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=2&i=439465&t=439465 http://www.mantapart.com/2022ohv.html

Is that 1/2 a chevy V8?
Quote: no extended skirt like the A series A-series is mini-skirt. Block does not extend down past the crank centerline ... just like small block chevy (less the cross-flow head).

yes sorry meant to say just like the a series for the skirt and
also like the CA so sometimes there is a need for a ladder brace when going for very high rpm but saves weight.

Yeah I dont know why they do that and also the thermostat housing on the block

Lots of photos there, but none show where the distributor location is.
