quick question it says on the maddat site that you need a rebuilt front end off them to have the coilovers is this true or are they just trying to get you to spend more money??? its for a 1200 aswell if anyone wanted to know....

I'm guessing that it's recommended but not needed. Realistically the coil over set up is going to work if it's done right weather the rest of the front end is rebuilt or not. Of course it's going to be better if all joints and bushes were replaced with quality parts.

Depends if you have early or late model ball joints- late model ute ones work- early ones don't mate up to 200b/ stanza struts

I think they use Stanza struts, so you will need the Stanza front end, control arms, tie rods, etc, which I don't think match up to a 1200 set up. Thats how I see it.

they also do 120y & 1200 strut leg,
i'd say its a compatibility thing rather than an up-sell thing

Just start to put them on and you will find out what parts you will need.
you can change draglinks and tierods later... I'm not sure if the base of the coilover strut will fit the 1200 steering arm though?

when i got mine from datsport i just pulled the old ones out and sent them to them, they cut down struts, replace shocks and weld on the sleeves, and i got camber tops too.
pretty happy except if you're looking at going real low they mightnt cut the struts enough, i made a point of stressing i wanted them cut down as much as possible and it's still about 25mm higher than what i wanted before bottoming out. stiffer shocks would help though oh and mine are stanza stuts You can view topic.
