I own a street sweeping business here in California, USA and I have a really hard time getting parts for my sweeper truck engine that happens to be an A15. The companies that sale me my parts will end up putting me out of business with there crazy HIGH prices and my lack of knowledge on the subject.
I need a source for engine parts badly! I would like to get a repair manual for these engines! I've also noticed there seems to be different kinds of A15's and I would like to know how to identify the engines I have. I found this site because I was searching for a distributor cap and one of the users on this site took some photos of his distributor and the part number on it. Needless to say it match my perfectly. I can take photo's of parts if that will help:) I really need help on this! I have one supplier and they seem very greedy and I want to keep our business going so I pay the crazy prices:( Please help! God Bless!!!! ~Matt~ P.S. This is the post that shows a photo of a distributor cap I have on both of my sweeper truck. http://datsun1200.com/modules/newbb/v ... at&topic_id=27808&forum=1

Do those engines match parts from mine? I looked up a fuel pump on both cars you listed on eBay but they did not show a fuel pump for my engine.
How can I identify my engine? Is there numbers on it? Sorry if I'm asking dumb questions! I just want to make sure that you guys can tell exactly what kind engine I have and how best to help. God Bless! ~Matt~

Hey on the side of the block there will be a stamp on it with an engine number on it it will start with the letter a__ xxxxxx ect the a__ is what motor it is! Also lower on the block there could be lettering stating A15 ect
Just try enter a15 on eBay I found a pump ect on there!

Forget eBay. You can buy most parts at any local auto parts store, and most others from Nissan.
For example, Kragen/Grand Auto/O'Reillys or Autozone. A14&A15 parts are almost all identical. Rockauto.com has fuel pumps for $17. Yes, street sweep engine is a regular Datsun A15 except for the cam & intake designed for continous running.

We have a forklift at the shop I work at and it has a motor that looks similar to the A15, but is not. The motor we have is a J15. You will find a machined stamp pad on the passenger side of the block with the engine code followed by the serial number. If I remember, the J15 was what Nissan used for a majority of industrial applications.
The A15 could also have been used though.

Common Nissan industrial engines include H20, J15, A14 and A15.
Yes, best to look for the actual engine stamp. It is stamped into the cast iron block (not cast numbers, not tagged). You can view topic.
